
Joseph R. Gaffoglio, CFA, CPA President & CEO
Mr. Gaffoglio oversees all areas of Mutual of America Capital Management, including the fixed income and equity investment teams. In addition, he serves as a portfolio manager of the MoA Funds Asset Allocation and Clear Passage FundsTM, as well as for the equity portion of the MoA Balanced Fund. He works closely with leaders across Mutual of America on the strategic direction and strategy of the parent company, Mutual of America Life Insurance Company.
Joseph Gaffoglio joined Mutual of America Capital Management LLC in 2005 and was appointed President in March 2021 and Chief Executive Officer in July 2024. He has three decades of investment experience.
Mr. Gaffoglio is often sought out for his perspective on the economy and financial markets, and is regularly featured in top media publications including CNBC, POLITICO, CBS News MoneyWatch, The Hill and Kiplinger.
Prior to joining Mutual of America Capital Management LLC, Mr. Gaffoglio worked as an Associate Quantitative Analyst at Prudential Equity Group, LLC, from 2002 to 2005, and before that, as a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Mr. Gaffoglio received a BS in Accounting and Finance from Fordham University and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He currently serves as Chairman of MoA Funds and is a Board member of Mutual of America Securities LLC. He holds the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant, as well as Series 7 and Series 63 qualifications from FINRA, and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the CFA Institute.
